Realizar investigaciones utilizando métodos ecológicos, herramientas de genética molecular y modelos demográficos y espaciales para reconocer la biodiversidad de Venezuela y entender los procesos que determinan la distribución, abundancia y variabilidad genética de las poblaciones de animales silvestres, con el objetivo de facilitar la conservación, mantenimiento o uso sustentable, en particular, la conservación de especies en peligro de extinción.
